Mecca, June 4 (SANA) Syria’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Nazir Mohammed al-Qadri, met with his Saudi counterpart, Saleh bin Hamad al-Suhaibani, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation within the organization and advance the interests of OIC member states.
The meeting, held in Mecca, reviewed areas of cooperation between the two missions and efforts to support the OIC’s objectives of promoting prosperity, stability and peace across the Islamic world.
Al-Qadri praised Saudi Arabia’s support for Syria, describing it as a reflection of the kingdom’s balanced policies and its role in supporting regional and international stability. He also highlighted the humanitarian assistance provided through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
The Syrian envoy also congratulated Saudi Arabia on the successful organization of this year’s Hajj season, commending the services and facilities provided to pilgrims and the level of organization achieved during the annual pilgrimage.
Al-Qadri presented his credentials as Syria’s permanent representative to the OIC on April 20.
