Beirut, May 16 (SANA) Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours killed 18 people and wounded 124, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said Saturday.
The Health Emergency Operations Center at the Ministry of Public Health said the cumulative death toll since the escalation began on March 2 has risen to 2,969, with 9,112 people wounded through May 16.
On Saturday, a series of airstrikes and artillery strikes hit towns and villages in the south, killing three people and wounding others, authorities said. The Lebanese National News Agency reported an airstrike on a house in Tayr Falsayh that killed two people and wounded five.
Separately, artillery fire near the Sarbin intersection killed one person and wounded another. Shelling also hit multiple towns across the Nabatieh and Tyre districts, including Jebchit, Qaqaiyat al-Jisr, Mayfadoun, Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Srifa, Deir Qanoun Ras al-Ain, and Bayt al-Sayyad.
The strikes follow a deadly Friday attack on a medical facility in Nabatieh in which three Lebanese paramedics were killed and another was seriously wounded, the ministry said.
