Washington, March 19 (SANA) – The United States is considering deploying thousands of troops to strengthen its military operations against Iran, according to US officials cited by Reuters.

Sources said the White House is reviewing new military options, including the potential deployment of American forces along Iran’s coastline to help secure the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The developments come as the US-Israeli-Iranian war enters its twentieth day, amid intensified Iranian attacks targeting oil facilities and energy infrastructure in Gulf countries.

Earlier, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Washington’s objectives in Iran remain unchanged, noting that there is no fixed timeline for ending the conflict.
