Beirut, May 6 (SANA) Six people were killed Wednesday in Israeli airstrikes targeting areas in southern Lebanon and the western Bekaa region, according to Lebanese state media.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that Israeli drones struck the town of Mifdoun in Nabatieh district early Wednesday, alongside artillery shelling that killed two people. Four others were killed in a separate strike on the town of Zellaya in western Bekaa.
Israeli warplanes also carried out airstrikes targeting areas between Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Zawtar al-Gharbiya, as well as the towns of Rashknaniyeh in Tyre district and Safad al-Battikh in Bint Jbeil district.
The escalation triggered displacement from several southern towns, including Kawthariyet al-Siyad, al-Ghassaniyeh, Ansariyeh and Mazraat al-Daoudiyeh, following evacuation warnings issued by the Israeli military to residents of 12 Lebanese towns.
Earlier, Lebanese authorities said three people had been killed and four others injured in Israeli strikes targeting towns and villages in southern Lebanon between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
