Washington,April 28 (SANA) The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday that an American guided missile destroyer intercepted an oil tanker attempting to reach an Iranian port, as Washington continues to tighten its maritime restrictions on Iran.
In a statement posted on the X platform, CENTCOM said that the guided missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115) had enforced the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports by intercepting the oil tanker M/T Stream, after it attempted to head to one of Iran’s ports.
CENTCOM added that U.S. forces have sent back 38 vessels to port in recent operations aimed at monitoring maritime activity and boosting security in strategic waterways.
