Antalya, April 18 (SANA) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Saturday that Israel is pursuing an expansionist policy aimed at annexing additional territory, stressing that its actions are not driven solely by security concerns.
Speaking at the 5th edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Fidan said Israeli policies extend beyond the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to include areas in Lebanon and Syria.
He said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is using security pretexts to justify territorial expansion and called for an end to Israel’s ongoing occupation policies.
Fidan added that Israel’s actions pose a broader regional challenge for Türkiye and said that support from the United States and European countries contributes to the complexity of the situation.
On Friday, Fidan warned that Israel’s expansion, beginning in Gaza and extending to Lebanon and Syria, represents a threat to international security. He urged the international community to take a firm stance against policies that risk fueling instability in the region and beyond.
