Damascus, Feb. 28 (SANA) – Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani on Saturday reaffirmed Syria’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates during a phone call with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Al-Shaibani expressed Syria’s full support for the UAE and strongly condemned the Iranian attacks targeting its territory, stressing Syria’s standing alongside the UAE in confronting threats to its security and stability.

The Syrian foreign minister also held a series of diplomatic contacts with regional officials earlier in the day to discuss the escalation between Iran and Israel and its implications for regional security, including conditions in countries affected by the exchange of missile strikes, as well as ways to enhance regional and international coordination to contain the crisis.

In a separate statement, the Foreign Ministry condemned the Iranian attacks targeting the sovereignty and security of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan, expressing Syria’s full solidarity with the affected Arab states.
