Beirut, April 15 (SANA) Israeli airstrikes targeted several towns in southern Lebanon from Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning, killing at least 12 people and wounding others, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported.
Five people were killed in an airstrike on the town of Ansariyeh in the Zahrani area, while two others were killed and a third injured in a strike on Abbasiyeh in the Tyre district, according to the NNA.
In the coastal city of Tyre, a woman was killed and eight others were wounded when a car was targeted late Tuesday.
Israeli warplanes also struck a series of towns across southern Lebanon, including Kfar Remman, Barish, Aitit, Maarakeh junction, Wadi Jilo, Beit Yahoun, Hanine, Borj Qalaouiyeh, Al-Ghandourieh and Tayr Debba, the agency said. Explosions were also reported in several homes in Bint Jbeil.
Lebanon’s Civil Defense said on Wednesday morning it had recovered four bodies and rescued three injured people following an airstrike on the “al-Khodra” complex in the Qadmous area.
Separately, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said on Tuesday evening that the total number of people killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon since March 2 had reached 2,124, including 168 children, while 6,921 people had been injured, among them 650 children.
