Trump threatens military escalation against Iran after ceasefire violation
U.S. President Donald Trump

Washington, June 28 (SANA) U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened further military action against Iran, saying the United States had carried out airstrikes on Iranian military sites in response to what he described as Tehran’s violation of the ceasefire.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said U.S. aircraft targeted Iranian missile and drone storage facilities and coastal radar sites after Iran had “once again violated the ceasefire agreement.” He added, “It is very possible that they will never learn.”

Trump warned that the United States could further escalate its military campaign, saying, “There may come a time when we can no longer be reasonable and are forced to finish the job that we began successfully militarily.” He added that if that happened, “the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist.”

His remarks came after U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that it had carried out additional airstrikes against several sites in Iran in response to what it described as continued Iranian attacks on commercial shipping.

The ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran faces a key test as the two sides continue to exchange military strikes around the Strait of Hormuz while accusing each other of violating the memorandum of understanding signed on June 17.
