Washington, April 10 (SANA) US President Donald Trump said that Iran does not possess meaningful negotiating leverage in upcoming talks with the United States in Pakistan, except for its control over maritime traffic in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on the Truth Social platform on Friday, Trump said The Iranians don’t seem to realize they have no cards, other than a short term extortion of the World by using International Waterways. He added that negotiations remain the main path forward.
Earlier in the day, Trump warned Iran of further strikes if the anticipated talks in Pakistan fail within the framework of a temporary ceasefire agreement.
The remarks came as US Vice President J. D. Vance headed to Islamabad ahead of the planned negotiations, cautioning against attempts to mislead Washington. Meanwhile, Tehran reiterated conditions preceding the talks, particularly the need for Israel to halt fire in Lebanon.
