Abu Dhabi, April 5 (SANA) – Emirati authorities announced Sunday that four people were injured by falling shrapnel in the Khor Fakkan port area in the Emirate of Sharjah, after air defenses intercepted missile and drone attacks launched from Iran.
The Sharjah Government Media Office stated that the incident at the strategic port resulted in severe injuries to a Nepalese national, who was evacuated to a hospital for treatment. Three Pakistani nationals sustained varying degrees of injuries from the debris following what the statement described as a “capable interception” by air defense systems, according to the UAE news agency (WAM).
The statement added that firefighting and rescue teams successfully contained a fire that broke out at the site. Emergency response units managed the situation, and cooling operations are currently underway.
This marks the second significant incident in three days. On Friday, UAE authorities reported one fatality and four injuries caused by falling shrapnel at the Habshan gas facilities following a similar interception of missiles and drones originating from Iran.
