London, March 28 (SANA) Maersk, the container shipping group, announced Saturday, that it has suspended its operations at the Port of Salalah in the Sultanate of Oman for 48 hours following an attack by two drones that left one person injured and caused material damage.
Reuters quoted the company as saying in a statement that “all its crew members are safe and that its shipments and vessels were not affected.”
The Port of Salalah was evacuated after the attack caused damage to one of the cranes, leading to a temporary suspension of operations.
The Sultanate of Oman condemned those attacks, affirming that it is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of citizens and the country.
Iran has escalated the pace of its daily attacks on countries in the region and the Arabian Gulf, targeting civilian and service facilities as well as residential buildings with missiles and drones, resulting in injuries and material damage.
