Beirut,March 28 ( SANA) Several people were killed on Saturday in new airstrikes carried out by Israeli occupation aircraft on many towns in southern Lebanon.
Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli forces opened fire on a civilian car driven by a Lebanese citizen accompanied by his son in the al-Awaynat area between Rmeish and Debel, killing them both.
Israeli aircraft also targeted a car on the Jezzine–Kfarhouna road, resulting in several fatalities, including a woman.
Israeli forces also launched airstrikes on the towns of Yater and Beit Yahoun, while a missile fired at the Al-Sharq neighborhood in the village of Ma’rakah (Tyre district) failed to explode.
Earlier today, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced the death of five people and the injury of more than 27 others as a result of ongoing Israeli airstrikes on several Lebanese towns.
The Lebanese National News Agency also reported that an Israeli airstrike targeted the town of Al-Hanniyeh in the Tyre area, killing five Syrian nationals and injuring eight others.
Israel has escalated its attacks on Lebanon since March 2, following strikes by Hezbollah militia on Israeli positions.
The escalation includes daily airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs and wide areas in the south and the Bekaa, alongside a ground incursion along several axes in southern Lebanon aimed at separating areas south of the Litani River from the north and establishing a “buffer zone.”
