Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, March 26 (SANA) The United Arab Emirates and Kuwait said Thursday their air defense systems intercepted missiles and drones launched from Iran, amid ongoing regional escalation.
The UAE Ministry of Defense said in a statement posted on X that its air defense systems responded in the morning to missile and drone attacks.
“The UAE air defense systems responded this morning to rocket attacks and drones launched from Iran,” the ministry said, adding that sounds reported across several areas were the result of interception operations involving ballistic missiles, drones and cruise missiles.
In Kuwait, the National Guard said it had intercepted and downed two drones within its areas of responsibility, according to a statement published on X.
Spokesman Jadaan Fadel Jadaan said the operation was part of efforts to enhance security readiness, protect vital facilities and counter potential threats.
Both countries said the measures were aimed at safeguarding national security and maintaining readiness.
The incidents come amid continued missile and drone launches toward several countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia, raising concerns over broader escalation following U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran on February 28.
