Beirut, March 25 (SANA) Israeli airstrikes on several towns in southern Lebanon killed 10 people and wounded dozens, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said Wednesday.
The ministry’s emergency operations center said an airstrike on the town of Adloun, near Sidon, killed four people and injured another, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
Additional strikes targeting the town of Habboush in the Nabatieh district, a house in the Mieh Mieh camp near Sidon, al-Alam roundabout in the city of Tyre, and the town of Batouliyeh in the Tyre district killed six people and injured 47 others, the agency reported.
Lebanese media said Israeli artillery shelling also hit the towns of Maroun al-Ras and Yaroun, as well as areas on the outskirts of Bint Jbeil.
Israel has stepped up its attacks on Lebanon since early March following strikes by the Hezbollah militia on Israeli positions, carrying out near-daily air raids on Beirut’s southern suburbs and areas across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. Israeli ground forces have also advanced in parts of southern Lebanon, according to reports.
The Lebanese Health Ministry said Tuesday that the total number of people killed in the Israeli aggression had reached 1,072, with 2,966 others injured.
