Riyadh, March 21 (SANA) Saudi Arabia said its forces intercepted and destroyed 26 drones launched from Iran toward the Kingdom’s Eastern Province in recent hours.
Defense Ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said on Saturday that the drones were intercepted before reaching their targets.
Saudi Arabia has reported repeated drone launches from Iran toward Gulf countries, targeting facilities and infrastructure, particularly in the energy sector.
Such incidents, along with disruptions to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, have contributed to volatility in global energy markets.
