Beirut, May 12 (SANA) Six people were killed and seven others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting the town of Kafardounin in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon overnight, Lebanese state media reported on Tuesday.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said Israeli warplanes struck a residential house in the town, with the wounded transferred to hospitals in the city of Tyre.
The strike came amid continuing Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon, including artillery shelling targeting the outskirts of Mansouri and Majdal Zoun at dawn, according to NNA.
The agency also reported that Israeli forces detonated several houses in the Ain al-Saghira neighborhood of Bint Jbeil.
Israeli warplanes carried out two additional strikes on the town of Srifa in the Tyre district, while Israeli drones were reported flying intensively over the Litani River area.
In a separate incident, an Israeli force reportedly advanced into the Hura–Ras al-Khalleh area near the Waqf building in the town of Deir Mimas in Marjayoun district, Nabatieh province.
According to NNA, the force rigged with explosives a solar-powered water pumping station supplying drinking water to the town before detonating it around dawn, causing extensive damage.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said on Monday that the death toll from Israeli strikes on Lebanon since March 2 had risen to 2,869, with 8,730 wounded.
