London, March 17 (SANA) The British Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said Tuesday that an oil tanker was struck by an “unknown projectile” while docked near the UAE’s Fujairah port, causing minor damage.
CNN reported the incident occurred late Monday in the Gulf of Oman, about 23 nautical miles east of Fujairah. No injuries or environmental damage were reported.
Separately, authorities in Fujairah said they were working to control a fire that broke out Monday in the Fujairah Oil Industries Zone following a drone strike.
UKMTO has reported 21 incidents in the Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman in recent weeks, highlighting rising risks to commercial shipping in the region.
