Occupied Jerusalem, April 24 (SANA) A Palestinian girl was injured on Friday after Israeli forces opened fire on a displacement shelter in Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip, according to local sources and the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Medical sources said the girl was struck in the head by live ammunition. Several displaced civilians were also lightly injured inside the Khalifa School shelter in the same area amid ongoing artillery shelling and gunfire, WAFA reported.
In parallel developments, Israeli artillery targeted the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City and areas east of Khan Younis in the southern part of the enclave. Israeli naval vessels also opened fire off the coast of Khan Younis, according to local reports.
The escalation comes amid continued military activity across the Gaza Strip, where civilians sheltering in displacement centers have repeatedly come under fire.
