Riyadh/Doha, March 14 (SANA) Air defense systems in Qatar and Saudi Arabia intercepted several Iranian ballistic missiles and drones on Saturday, according to statements from both countries’ defense ministries.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defense said its air defense systems shot down drones and intercepted four ballistic missiles targeting the country. In a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency, the ministry said the Qatari armed forces had successfully destroyed all drones involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Defense said its air defenses intercepted six Iranian ballistic missiles in the kingdom’s airspace.
Saudi Press Agency quoted a ministry spokesman as saying that the missiles were launched toward Al‑Kharj but were destroyed before reaching their targets.
The ministry also said three drones had earlier been intercepted and destroyed over the Eastern Province.
The attacks come amid escalating regional tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which began on February 28 and has led to missile and drone strikes across parts of the Middle East.
