Aleppo, Jan. 15 (SANA) Local authorities in Deir Hafer, eastern Aleppo, said Thursday that the SDF organization is preventing civilians from leaving the city through a humanitarian corridor announced by the Syrian Arab Army.

The Operation Command at the Syrian army announced on Wednesday that a humanitarian corridor would open from Maskanah and Deir Hafer to the city of Aleppo, operating from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

The Command urged residents in eastern Aleppo to use the route via the village of Hamimah along the M15, the main road connecting Deir Hafer and Aleppo, and to avoid all SDF and PKK militia positions in the area. The army said it would take measures to address any security threats affecting civilians and the surrounding region.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the Syrian army declared Deir Hafer, Maskanah, and surrounding areas a closed military zone, following continued SDF organization and PKK militia mobilization, as well as the presence of remnants of ousted regime.
