Trump: Preventing a nuclear Iran is more critical than record oil profits
President Trump: "Evil Empire" must never possess nukes, regardless of energy costs

Washington, March 12 (SANA) US President Donald Trump declared on Thursday that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is his “top priority,” asserting that global security far outweighs the financial gains of the energy sector. In a statement posted on “Truth Social”, Trump emphasized that while the United States is currently the world’s leading oil producer, the profits generated by rising prices are secondary to neutralizing the Iranian threat.

“The United States is the largest producer of oil in the world by a lot, so high oil prices make us massive profits,” Trump wrote. “However, all I care about much more as President of the United States is preventing the Evil Empire, Iran, from getting nuclear weapons that could destroy the Middle East and the entire world. I will never let that happen under any circumstances.”

These remarks coincide with a third consecutive session of rising crude oil prices, fueled by escalating tensions in the Arabian Gulf and fears of a sustained disruption to global energy supplies. The International Energy Agency (IEA) underscored the gravity of the situation today, labeling the current conflict the “largest disruption” in the history of the global oil market.

According to the IEA, global crude production has plummeted by at least 8 million barrels per day (bpd). An additional 2 million bpd of petroleum products, including condensates, have also been lost due to the halt in production activities across the region. This total 10-million-barrel daily deficit represents an unprecedented shock to the global economy, prompting the IEA’s historic emergency reserve release earlier this week.
