Kuwait City, March 12 (SANA) Two people were injured when a hostile drone struck a residential building in southern Kuwait early Thursday, the Kuwaiti Defense Ministry said.
Defense Ministry spokesman Col. Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said the drone attack caused injuries and material damage to the building.
Kuwait’s air defense systems intercepted several additional drones that entered the country’s northern airspace, Al-Atwan added.
The Kuwaiti Armed Forces General Staff urged citizens and residents to follow official safety instructions amid heightened regional tensions.
The incident comes as tensions escalate following Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Gulf states, which have caused casualties and damage to infrastructure in several countries across the region.
On Wednesday, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution condemning Iran’s attack on Gulf states and Jordan, calling on Tehran to immediately halt hostilities, threats and provocations against neighboring countries.
