Qatar and Türkiye discuss rising regional tensions

Doha, Mar. 12 (SANA) Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, discussed in a phone call on Wednesday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan the latest regional developments amid the continued Iranian aggression targeting Qatar and several countries in the region, posing a threat to their security and stability.

According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), both leaders stressed the importance of ongoing regional and international efforts, as well as the continuous consultations between the two countries, to halt the escalation and create conditions conducive to peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomatic means, in a way that strengthens regional security and prevents the crisis from expanding.

President Erdoğan reaffirmed Türkiye’s solidarity with Qatar and its full support for all measures taken by Doha to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.

Since February 28, missile exchanges have continued between Israel and the United States on one side and Iran on the other, while Iran has carried out missile and drone attacks on Gulf states, Jordan, and Iraq.
