Ankara, March 9 (SANA) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called for establishing a regional dialogue platform to help contain rising tensions in the Middle East amid ongoing US Israeli military conflict with Iran and Iran’s counter escalation in turn.
This call was launched during a press conference following an informal meeting of Turkic States Organization foreign ministers, saying “Türkiye proposes launching a regional dialogue platform to address rising conflicts and support stability in the region”.
Fidan said his country is pushing diplomatic efforts to stop the war, warning that US-Israeli attacks on Iran are raising the risk of regional destabilization, while also threatening global energy security and creating conditions that could enable terrorist organizations to expand.
He underscored that dialogue and diplomatic solutions are the only way to prevent the conflict from widening.
Since February 28, the region has seen a sharp escalation driven by US-Israeli war on Iran, which has responded with strikes on vital facilities across several countries. And that has raised international alarm over threatening energy supplies and navigation in key sea lanes.
