Riyadh, Mar. 7 (SANA) Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed two Iranian drones in the country’s airspace.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted the ministry’s spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki, as saying that one drone was intercepted and destroyed east of Riyadh, while another was destroyed over the Empty Quarter as it was heading toward the Shaybah oil field.
Earlier, Saudi defenses announced the interception and destruction of six drones in the Empty Quarter that were heading toward the Shaybah oil field. They also announced the destruction of a ballistic missile launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base.
These Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region come amid the US-Israeli war on Iran, which has entered its second week.
