Qatar condemns Iranian attack on naval facilities in Bahrain
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned an Iranian attack on buildings housing its naval forces in Bahrain

Doha, March 6 (SANA) Qatar on Friday strongly condemned an Iranian attack targeting buildings housing Qatari Emiri Naval Forces in Bahrain, calling it a serious escalation that threatens regional security.

In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a blatant act of aggression and a violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty, posing a direct threat to both the kingdom and the wider region.

The ministry expressed full solidarity with Bahrain, warning that targeting facilities housing forces operating under the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) framework constitutes a dangerous escalation that undermines regional security and violates principles of good neighborliness and respect for sovereignty.

Qatar reiterated its condemnation of all acts threatening the security of countries in the region and the safety of their facilities, calling for an immediate halt to the escalation. The ministry also urged adherence to international law and the United Nations Charter to preserve stability and prevent further tensions.

Earlier on Friday, Bahrain’s Interior Ministry reported that Iran carried out a new attack targeting two hotels and a residential building in the capital, Manama.

Iranian missile and drone strikes against Gulf states have intensified in recent days, with Saudi air defenses intercepting and destroying three ballistic missiles aimed at Prince Sultan Air Base.
