Palestine: Huckabee's Statements pose threat to regional and international security
The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine

Occupied Jerusalem, Feb.22(SANA) The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine stated on Saturday that the remarks made by US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, in which he indicated that he “sees no objection to Israel taking over the entire Middle East,” pose a direct threat to regional and international peace and security.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Huckabee’s speech “not only contradicts international law and the UN Charter, but also the essence of the Christian message and the teachings of the Bible, which cannot be transformed into a tool to grant religious legitimacy to occupation or annexation.”

The committee emphasized that using religious texts to justify geographical control or deny the rights of the Palestinian people “provides ideological cover for the policies of occupation, annexation, and displacement that affect Palestinians, both Muslim and Christian.”

The committee called on the US administration to declare a clear position on Huckabee’s statements, in accordance with international law and the moral responsibility of political and religious leaders to avoid exploiting religion in political conflicts.

The US ambassador’s statements sparked widespread condemnation in the Arab and Islamic worlds, amid criticism that they reflect explicit support for Israeli expansionist policies
