Qatar denies depleted Patriot report, says air-defense system fully operational

Doha, March 3 (SANA) Qatar’s International Media Office on Tuesday rejected a Bloomberg report claiming the country had exhausted its stockpile of Patriot air-defense interceptor missiles, insisting the system remains fully supplied and at full readiness.

In a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the IMO said that “contrary to reporting by Bloomberg on Monday evening, the inventory of Patriot interceptor missiles held by Qatari Armed Forces has not been depleted and remains well stocked.”

The statement warned that publishing such “false information without verification from an official source is deeply irresponsible, especially during this fast-moving and highly sensitive period in the region.”

“The Qatari Forces have repeatedly demonstrated their capability to defend the nation against external threats and remain at full readiness to protect all citizens, residents and visitors for as long as necessary,” the statement added.

Qatar’s Ministry of Defense said on Monday that its forces had intercepted two Iranian SU-24 aircraft, seven ballistic missiles and five drones.
