Occupied Jerusalem, Feb.12 (SANA)   China renewed Thursday its opposition to Israeli attempts to annex occupied Palestinian territory in the West Bank and expand settlement activity.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said during a press conference that China “has always opposed the construction of new settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories” and rejects “all attempts at annexation or encroachment on Palestinian lands that undermine the two-state solution.”

He stressed that “the West Bank is an integral part of the Palestinian territories.”

The Chinese statement came days after Israel announced decisions aimed at deepening its control over the West Bank, a move Palestinian officials described as a precursor to annexation plans. The measures have drawn Palestinian, Arab and international opposition.
