Qatari Foreign Ministry: lifting US Sanctions on Syria a Historic Turning Point

Doha, SANA – The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the Executive Order signed by US President Donald Trump to terminate sanctions imposed on Syria.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a post on the X platform: “Damascus reopens its doors to the world after years of international isolation.” He added: “We welcome Trump’s Executive Order, which represents a historic turning point that restores Syria’s natural position on the international economic map and paves the way for a long-awaited phase of peace and stability.”
