Nicosia, March 8 (SANA) Cyprus Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos said the explosive-laden drones that targeted a British military base in Cyprus were launched from Lebanon.
He told Al Jazeera on Sunday that “the focus must now be on the Lebanese front, and no possibility can be ruled out.”
The remarks come amid rising regional tensions after Hezbollah militia expressed support for Iran in its conflict with the U.S. and Israel.
Hezbollah fired rockets at Israeli positions, prompting Israel to strike the southern suburbs of Beirut and areas in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, killing about 300 people, injuring hundreds and causing widespread damage.
Earlier, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides said the RAF Akrotiri base had been hit overnight by an Iranian “Shahed” drone, causing material damage but no casualties
