Syrian, Pakistani talks to enhance medical cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Health, Dr. Musab Al-Ali, discussed with Ambassador of the republic of Pakistan in Damascus Omer Khan, means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the health sector in a way that would contribute to supporting the medical sector in Syria and developing its capabilities.

During the meeting held on Monday, Minister Al-Ali stressed the importance of expanding cooperation with Pakistan, particularly in supplying Syrian hospitals with surgical tools and equipment, in addition to providing training and qualification opportunities for Syrian medical staff in the Pakistani health and educational institutions.

“Boosting health cooperation between the two countries is a fundamental pillar to support the efforts of the Syrian health sector to confront current challenges and improve the quality of services provided to citizens,” the Minister said.

For his part, the Pakistani Ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to provide the necessary support to the health sector in Syria, whether through medical assistance or through training and expertise exchange programs.
