Damascus, Jun 14 (SANA) Health Minister Musab al-Ali met on Wednesday with Marion Weichelt Krupski, Head of the Swiss Mission in Damascus, to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation in Syria’s health sector and improving the quality of medical services.
Talks focused on prospects for collaboration in digital transformation, exchange of expertise, and benefiting from advanced international experiences to boost the sector’s capabilities.
Minister al-Ali highlighted the major challenges facing Syria’s health system, including infrastructure reconstruction, modernization of medical equipment, provision of essential medicines, and shortages in medical staff. He underlined the Ministry’s commitment to building long-term strategic partnerships to support this vital sector.
For her part, Krupski reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between Syria and Switzerland, expressing her country’s readiness to expand cooperation, particularly in healthcare, to contribute to development and recovery efforts.
The meeting comes within the Ministry of Health’s broader efforts to strengthen international cooperation and expand partnerships aimed at advancing Syria’s health sector.
