U.S. Senate blocks resolution to end strikes on Iran

Washington, March 5 (SANA) The majority in the U.S. Senate blocked efforts aimed at forcing President Donald Trump to halt military strikes against Iran.

According to Reuters, a majority of senators on Wednesday backed the military campaign ordered by President Trump, and voted to reject a resolution that sought to end the war and require congressional authorization before launching any combat operations.

The U.S. and Israel have been conducting coordinated strikes on Iran since Saturday, part of an escalating regional conflict.
