Jordan, Egypt emphasize Syria’s stability and unity

Amman, Jan. 10 (SANA) Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, discussed regional developments, particularly in Syria, during a phone call on Saturday.

According to the Jordan News Agency, the two ministers stressed the importance of achieving security and stability in Syria, respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and ensuring the safety of its citizens.

On Gaza, both sides underscored the need to fully implement the ceasefire agreement, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, and move toward the second phase of the deal. They also highlighted the importance of creating conditions for early recovery and preserving the unity of Palestinian territory.

Regarding Lebanon, the ministers called for an end to Israeli attacks and reaffirmed support for Lebanon’s security, stability, sovereignty, and efforts to strengthen its national institutions.

The two ministers also reiterated Jordan’s and Egypt’s rejection of Israel’s recognition of “Somaliland,” reaffirming their full support for Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, which they described as essential to stability in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region. They further expressed support for dialogue in Yemen to ensure security and stability while respecting the country’s sovereignty.
