The Internal Security Directorate in Lattakia, in a coordinated operation with the Counterterrorism Branch, has arrested Naef Dirgham, the former Military Prosecutor General linked to the deposed regime.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior via its official Telegram channel, Brigadier General Abdul Aziz al-Ahmad, Commander of Internal Security in Lattakia,, confirmed that Dirgham was captured following extensive surveillance and intelligence efforts.
The arrest operation took place in the northern countryside of Lattakia, where Dargam originally from the village of Al-Shamiya village had been residing.
Authorities accuse Dirgham, a retired major general, of serious human rights violations committed against civilians during his tenure under the former regime.
He held senior positions within the state apparatus, most notably overseeing military and field courts as the Military Prosecutor General.
Brigadier General Al-Ahmad stated that Dirgham has been transferred to the relevant judicial authorities for further investigations and legal proceedings.
