Damascus, SANA- Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammad Yusir Barneiah, has held discussions with a technical delegation from the World Bank specializing in the financial and monetary sector regarding ways to strengthen financial relations and develop and modernize various areas of operation within Syrian banks.
The meeting, held at the Ministry headquarters, also addressed technical and operational aspects of financial and banking work, as well as methods to modernize and advance the Ministry’s operations to align with the latest global financial systems.
The Minister emphasized Syria’s commitment to enhancing financial and economic relations with the World Bank in a manner that serves the interests of the Syrian people. He highlighted the negative impact on the financial and banking sector caused by policies of the previous regime and international sanctions imposed on Syria.
