Damascus, April 11 (SANA) – Arab and international companies participating in the 4th Syria International Exhibition for Agricultural Mechanization, Livestock and Agricultural Production Supplies (Agro Syria) expressed interest in expanding their presence in Syria, viewing it as a promising investment destination.
Participants said the exhibition provides a platform to explore cooperation opportunities, exchange expertise, and showcase agricultural products and technologies aimed at supporting farmers and developing the agricultural sector.
Ibrahim al-Naasan, representing a Saudi fertilizer company, said participation builds on the firm’s presence in previous editions, reflecting confidence in Syria’s agricultural potential. He added that the company has expanded cooperation with local producers over the past year and is prepared to share expertise with Syrian partners.
Remin al-Saudi, representing a Jordanian fertilizer and chemical company, said participation is part of efforts to explore regional markets and assess demand in Syria.

Ali Hussein, representing an Iraqi agricultural pipe manufacturer, said interest in Syria is growing as the agricultural sector shows signs of renewed activity. He added that the exhibition helps strengthen commercial ties with local farmers.
Mulham Barakat, representing a Qatari feed trading company, said the event provides direct access to farmers and traders, noting Syria’s importance as a regional agricultural market.

International participants also highlighted investment opportunities and potential contributions to the sector’s development. Homam Hadda, an agent for a Bulgarian pump manufacturer, said the company aims to supply agricultural and industrial equipment using German-technology systems.
Abdullah Ghandoora, representing a Turkish poultry equipment company, said the firm is introducing modern technologies and providing technical support to improve production efficiency.

Mahmoud Hassan, director of a Hungarian honey company, said the exhibition offered opportunities to engage with partners and explore knowledge transfer in honey production.

The Agro Syria exhibition opened on Thursday with more than 120 local, Arab and international companies participating. It runs until Sunday, open daily from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
