Istanbul, SANA- The General Company for Cement and Building Materials Manufacturing and Marketing (Omran) signed a strategic agreement with the Saudi Northern Cement Group to rehabilitate and develop the Adra Cement Plant, on the sidelines of the “INTERCEM 2025” International Cement Industry Conference, held in Istanbul, Turkey.

The agreement, which is a qualitative step in the path of Syrian-Saudi economic cooperation, includes the training and qualifying of 40 engineers and technicians, developing production lines and laboratories, reducing operational costs, in addition to producing new types of cement and importing clinker, during an implementation period extending 120 days.
This agreement comes as a complement to the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides during the Syrian-Saudi Investment Forum in Damascus on July 24, and reflects the trend towards strengthening industrial partnerships in the reconstruction phase.
During one of the conference sessions, Omran General Manager Mahmoud Fadila emphasized that the sector is one of the most prominent strategic sectors in supporting infrastructure and rebuilding what was destroyed by the former regime.
The agreement between the Syrian and Saudi companies represents a practical step towards enhancing Arab industrial cooperation, and it also highlights that Syria’s presence in international forums affirms its ability to attract strategic partnerships despite the challenges.
