Washington,March 7 (SANA) The U.S is preparing to deploy a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East as regional tensions continue to rise.
The U.S. outlet Stars and Stripes said the USS George H.W. Bush has completed its training and is expected to move towards the eastern Mediterranean, where the USS Gerald R. Ford had been positioned before shifting to the Red Sea.
The USS Abraham Lincoln remains in the Arabian Sea conducting operations against Iran.
President Donald Trump said earlier that Iran would face “a very powerful strike”, adding that Washington is considering new targets.
The U.S.–Israeli conflict with Iran has entered its second week, while Iran continues missile and drone attacks on Arab states, causing casualties and infrastructure damage.
