Damascus, June 7 (SANA) Syrian sculptor Halla al-Jari is holding her first solo exhibition at Zawaya Art Gallery in Damascus, showcasing 25 sculptures that explore themes of memory, transformation and the human condition through abstract forms.
The exhibition features works crafted from bronze, copper, aluminum, basalt, Afrin stone and white stone, alongside a large mixed-media installation measuring approximately 145 cm high and 2 metres wide.
Drawing on personal experiences and the profound transformations witnessed in Syrian society, the works translate emotional and psychological states into abstract compositions that balance fragmentation and recovery, rupture and renewal.
Al-Jari told SANA that the exhibition is the culmination of years of artistic practice and reflection, aimed at transforming memories, emotions and lived experiences into a visual language that goes beyond direct narration.
A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University in 2010, al-Jari has participated in several group exhibitions and art forums in Syria and abroad. The exhibition marks her first solo show and reflects the evolution of her artistic journey.
