Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs reaffirms support for Syria’s sovereignty and unity

Damascus, June.7 (SANA) Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani discussed on Sunday, during a telephone call with Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, bilateral relations and ways to support and further develop bilateral cooperation, in addition to the latest developments in Syria.

The two sides also reviewed ongoing mediation efforts between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the call, al-Khulaifi reiterated the State of Qatar’s full support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and the aspirations of its brotherly people for stability, development and prosperity.

He also stressed the importance of all parties responding positively to the ongoing mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, in a manner that would help address the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, and contribute to reaching a sustainable agreement capable of preventing renewed escalation.
