Syria partakes in int’l Islamic unity conference in Tehran

Tehran, SANA_ The 30th International Islamic Unity Conference kicked off in Tehran Thursday morning with the participation of Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badr-Eddin Hassoun and the presence of Syria’s Ambassador to Iran Dr. Adnan Mahmod.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that the Syrian and Iraqi lands will be cleared of  terrorists due to the unity and integrity of the Muslims, accusing the powers of arrogance and tyranny of creating the Takfiri terrorist currents in the region.

In his speech at the conference President Rouhani pointed out that the powers of arrogance, backed by the reactionary powers in the region spread chaos and sedition among the Muslims to serve their interests as they bought the archeological ruins stolen by terrorists  from Syria and Iraq.

In turn, the Grand Mufti Hassoun stressed that Syria, Lebanon and Iran proved to the world that the colonial powers are behind igniting the war and sedition in the Islamic world.

Hassoun hailed the Iranian and Russian support to Syria in its war against terrorism, indicating that Aleppo celebrates its liberation from terrorists.

The three-day conference entitled “Unity and Necessity of Confrontation with Takfiri Movements” discusses the role of Takfiri trends in sowing discord among Muslims, the role of colonial powers in disintegration of the Muslim world and the necessity of facing these trends for the unity of the Islamic nation.

The threat posed by Takfiri terrorists to hinder mobilizing ranks for liberating Palestine, the Zionist entity’s use of Takfiri currents, the need to study the false thought and psychological conditions of takfiris for confronting them and the role of media in facing these currents are among topics of the conference.

Delegations from 60 different countries are participating in this conference.
