Kerry: Cessation of hostilities in Syria top priority

Washington, SANA – US Secretary of State John Kerry stressed that the cessation of hostilities in Syria is a top priority.

In phone calls with the UN’s Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura, and the so-called general coordinator of al-Riyadh opposition group, Kerry made clear that “ending the violence in Aleppo and returning ultimately to a durable, nationwide cessation is a top priority.”

The cessation of hostilities agreement, which came into effect on 27 February, does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations.
