Higher Judicial Committee for Elections: Candidacy Committees for Parliamentary elections will receive applications of candidates until Wednesday

Damascus, SANA-The Higher Judicial Committee for Elections (HJCE) announced on Sunday that the Candidacy Committees for the 2nd Legislative term of Parliamentary elections will continue receiving applications of candidates until 8 p.m. of Wednesday, March 2nd.

“The Committee has decided to allow the candidates in Aleppo and regions of Aleppo governorate to submit their applications in Damascus constituency , in addition to the centers of Aleppo, regions of Aleppo governorate, Lattakia and Tartous as there is a large number of citizens from Aleppo province in these cities,” Hisham al-Shaar, Head of the Committee said.

He added that Candidates of Idleb center, where is placed in Hama, are allowed to submit their applications to Aleppo constituency, in addition to the centers of Lattakia, Tartous and Damascus.

Similarly, according to al-Shaar, candidates of Raqqa, with its center in Hama, are also allowed to submit their applications in Damascus constituency, Hasaka in addition to the centers of Lattakia and Tartous.

In a relevant context, the committee said that the number of candidates reached at 2745 ones until 8 p.m. on Sunday.

They were distributed as the following: in Damascus 256, Damascus countryside 214, Aleppo 274, Aleppo regions 222, Idleb 97, Homs 494, Hama 205, Lattakia 358, Tartous 123, Deir Ezzor 105, Hasaka 149, Raqqa 68, Daraa 91, Sweida 41 and in Quneitra 48 candidates.
