Damascus, SANA – Marking the 42nd anniversary of October Liberation War, Damascus Workers Union organized a concert performed by the Union’s band on Tuesday.
The band performed many popular national songs and chants at the concert, that was held in cooperation with the Political Administration, and attended by official, partisan and popular figures.
Secretary General of the International Confederation of Arab Trade Unions Rajab Maatouq congratulated the personnel of the Syrian Arab Army on the 42nd anniversary of the Arab-Israeli war in which the Syrian armed forces managed to take an area back from the Israeli occupation forces that had advanced on the Golan.
“You proved to the world your steadfastness and bravery in confronting the fiercest of terrorism war,” said Maatouq.
He pointed out that the army’s achievements against the terrorists over the past four years remind us of its victory in 1973, stressing that “we will celebrate the triumph of Syria soon.”
Member of the Executive Bureau of Damascus Workers Union Thuraya Misilmaniyeh highlighted the importance of this occasion, stressing that the proletariat has always been the strongest supporter of to the Syrian army under the current war.
