Damascus Countryside, SANA- Army’s Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayoub visited on Wednesday the Syrian army’s units in al-Zabadani area in Damascus countryside.
Fighting rages between the Syrian army, aided by the Lebanese resistance and popular defense groups on the one hand, and terrorist organizations on the other in al-Zabadani city outside Damascus, where the Syrian army and allied forces have made significant gains recently.
Gen. Ayoub, who is visiting al-Zabadani accompanied by officers from the General Command upon the directive of President Bashar al-Assad, inspected the combat operations in the city.
The field commanders briefed Gen. Ayoub on the nature of military operations and the strategic importance of the area.
Gen. Ayoub lauded the high morale of the army personnel and the Lebanese national resistance fighters, praising the sacrifices they made and the heroic acts they perform in combating terrorists.
The Chief of Staff affirmed Syrian Army’s determination to continue to fight terrorism and restore stability and security to the whole Syrian land.
For their part, army members said that they will continue to perform their tasks, expressing their confidence in an imminent victory over terrorism.
