Syrian Tourism Festival – Syria 2015 launched at Dama Rose Hotel

Damascus, SANA – The Tourism Ministry, in cooperation with the Syrian Transport and Tourism Company, launched on Friday the Syrian Tourism Festival: Syria 2015 at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

The launch ceremony included artistic performances and the signing of cooperation agreements, in addition to honoring a number of Syrian and Arab figures who supported the tourism sector in Syria.

In a speech at the event, Tourism Minister Bishr Yazigi discussed the Ministry’s plans for the next stage and for developing investments in the field of tourism, which will focus on updating legislations, planning, and training for workforce in this sector, as well as improving the quality of services and revising prices.

The Federation of Tourism Chambers, tourism schools and institutes, UN organizations, civil societies, travel and tourism companies, airlines, shopping malls, and commercial and services companies are participating in the event, which will be concluded on May 6th.

The Festival’s activities include workshops on varies facets of tourism in Syria as well as launching the Youth Initiatives Program and the Syrian Tourism Club.
