Russian official: Military-Technical cooperation with Syria is legal


Moscow, SANA Military-Technical cooperation between Russia and Syria is legal, Director General of Rosoboronexport Anatoly Isaykin said Monday.

The arms Syria is possessing are allocated to border guards and fighting terrorism in the country, Russian Ria Novosti News Agency
quoted Isaykin as saying in an interview with Russian Kommersant newspaper, adding that the arms exporters find no difficulty in delivering these weapons to the Syrian army.

Syria has fought those who have worked on creating the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization and exerted great efforts to prevent its spread all over the country, Isaykin went on to say.

He described the western sanctions on Syria as illegal since they are not based on any UN security council resolution.
